Myth and Ritual is the last of the pre-studio era recordings. These songs about religion were intended to be included with others from Heroes and Ghosts as the other records from Rendina's 20s combined two records into one - from the summer and winter months of the year. This record shows Rendina relaxing into a cooler period, and the influence of Joni Mitchell is ever present. The lyrics were again omitted in favor of an instrumental recording with themes drawing from Buddhism, Ancient Greece and Rome, Egypt, and the Levant. Soul Resonance takes its likeness from the compilation of the same name, in reference to channeling the music of others past, which Rendina often does, and that each person has a spiritual form of resonance and overtones as a result of their experiences. He sees songwriting as an era that will eventually come to pass, and that we will enter into an era in which a new form of music that is more meditative will emerge and predominate as a form of ritual in modern life.
